Once again, The Little Geek found this on YouTube and I found it really funny. I don’t usually just post lots of YouTube videos but this tickled my funny bone, probably because I am currently working my way through The Orange Box. Enjoy.
The Force Unleashed – Again
July 26, 2009
The Little Geek was visiting YouTube and came across this trailer for a sequel to the Lucasarts game, The Force Unleashed. The new game, The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith, is a “what if” story focusing on the concept of the Sith being the winners. This looks hot and I will be eagerly waiting for this. Check out the trailer below:
Ninja Assassin Trailer
July 26, 2009
Director James McTiegue (V for Vendetta) has unveiled the trailer for his new Joel Silver produced action film Ninja Assassin. The new film (due to hit Australian cinemas 26th November 2009) is written by Matthew Sand (first time writer) and J. Michael Straczynski (veteran writer and creator of TV’s Babylon 5 and many comic books) and stars Rain, Naomie Harris, Randall Duk Kim, Sung Kang and Rick Yune.
Check out the MTV released trailer below:
I read an article several months ago that said that McTiegue wanted to make a movie away from the Wachowski Brothers (they wrote and produced V for Vendetta) to establish himself as his own identity, I guess this is the film. Funnily, it looks a lot like a Wachowski film, go figure. That being said, the film looks fun and the action looks intense. I will go see it. On a side note, McTiegue is apparently signed to direct the new X-Men film, X-Men Origins: Magneto.
The plot, according to IMDB is as follows:
Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.
In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.
Geekgasm: Tron gets a name and a trailer!
July 26, 2009
I am just recovering from a rather strong geekgasm. The new Tron film finally gets a title (Tron Legacy) and Walt Disney has decided to officially release the Comic-Con 08 test footage as a teaser. I had only seen really sketchy pirate versions of this footage until now. I am really looking forward to this and feel that I have to go and watch the original 80’s Tron this afternoon.
For those that haven’t been following this story, the new film follows John Flynn (son of the original character Kevin Flynn) as he looks into his father’s disappearance. He gets sucked into the same world as the first film and finds his father who has been living there for 25 years. Father and son then set out on a life and death journey across a more advanced and dangerous cyberspace. Tron Legacy is directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund. It will be released by Disney in 2011.
