Film Review

‘The Losers’ directed by Sylvain White. The film was written by Peter Berg and James Vanderbilt based on the Vertigo comic series written by Andy Diggle. The film stars Jeffery Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, Columbus Short, Idris Elba, Oscar Jaenada and Jason Patric.

The official plot according to Warner Bros Pictures is:

A tale of double cross and revenge, centered upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team – Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar – find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max.

Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they’re joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war..

Our Verdict: A three way triangle, Josh really didn’t like it at all. Dave K. thought it was good popcorn nonsense and the cast was excellent. David was on the fence, it was what it was. A good cast that doesn’t get much to do and all the best moments are in the trailer. The film tries to be cool and that never works out well. You are cool or you are not, you should have to work so hard to convince us.
