Tech Actually Ep096 – We All Love Our Mothers

Hosts: David McVay & Josh Philpott

This is the official tech podcast of geekactually.com. The tech show by geeks for geeks and non-geeks. Accessible tech for everyone is the motto we live by. This week on Tech Actually we talk about the possible new owner of Facebook Paul Ceglia, broken iPhone 4 glass, Microsoft’s out of cycle patch to fix the icon flaw, iOS’s newly discovered security flaw, Blackberry’s woes in the Middle East and the death of Labor’s Internet Censorship Filter.

Now, if you are new to Geek Actually you are probably wondering why this episode of Tech Actually is numbered 96. No, we are not insane, Tech Actually and Film Actually (our movie podcast) used to be one show called The Geek Actually Podcast and this week we split them into two shows. We kept the numbering continuity across all three of our shows (this includes Geek Actually After Show). All the information on the re-structuring of the shows can be found here at geekactually.com.

Tech Actually is recorded live on Saturdays at 12pm (AEST UTC+10). Go to geekactually.com/live to watch it live.

Topic of the week

Blackberry Security in the Middle East

A collection of Arabic countries are blocking Blackberry because it is too secure and they want to be able to hack in and spy on their people. The official claim is that it breaches the National Security standards of their countries.
