I thought I start to give your comment section a little bit of life.
I read about the new Apple building before but only had a look at it because of your link. I think Josh is right with the idea that it looks like a church.
Additionally I thought more likely to be the goal of having basically all employees in one building that it is easier to monitor them better. Also, do you think employees will be able to live there. This way Apple would have total control.
