Feature Film Review

‘Underworld: Awakening’ directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein. It is written by Len Wiseman & John Hlavin and J. Michael Straczynski and Allison Burnett based on a story by Len Wiseman based in turn on characters created by Kevin Grevioux, Len Wiseman & Danny McBride. It stars Kate Beckinsale, Stephen Rea, Michael Ealy, Theo James, India Eisley, Kris Holden-Ried & Charles Dance.

When human forces discover the existence of the Vampire and Lycan clans, a war to eradicate both species commences. The vampire warrioress Selene leads the battle against humankind. Source: IMDB

Our Verdict: Best Underworld film of the series. This is exactly what the series needed, a huge injection of action and energy. Beckinsale shines as the vampire warrior Seline.

Spoiler Section: 40:08 – 47:28 – Fast forward this bit if you don’t want to hear spoilers.

Lists of Five:

This week our Lists of Five: Five Movie Series That Have Reached Number Four and Are Worth Watching. Underworld got us thinking, how many other series have reached four films and are still worth a look. Here you go.
Just a reminder, because we never like to just make things easy on ourselves, our lists are not necessarily top five lists, they are more or a less a list of film recommendations within the theme of the list.
