Feature Film Review

‘Brave’ directed by Brenda Chapman, Mark Andrews & Steve Purcell. It is written by Brenda Chapman, Mark Andrews, Steve Purcell & Irene Mecchi. It stars the voice talent of Billy Connolly, Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson, Julie Walters, Robbie Coltrane, Kevin McKidd & Craig Furguson.

Set in Scotland in a rugged and mythical time, “Brave” features Merida, an aspiring archer and impetuous daughter of royalty. Merida makes a reckless choice that unleashes unintended peril and forces her to spring into action to set things right. Source: Walt Disney Pictures

Our Verdict: A beautiful looking film (does Pixar know how to make an ugly film?) that falls short of the greatness that Pixar films used to be. Fun and whimsical but ultimately disappointing.

 Lists of Five

This week our Lists of Five: Five of the Best of the Year… So Far. Here we are at the half way point for the year, so what have we liked so far?
Just a reminder, because we never like to just make things easy on ourselves, our lists are not necessarily top five lists, they are more or a less a list of film recommendations within the theme of the list.
