David is joined by returning guest hosts Jacob Oberman and Katrina Smith in this long slight heavy tech edition of Geek Actually. First up we discuss Christian Bale’s bad manners on set and other stars who have lost it on camera.
New of the week includes the tech stories about LG’s new iPhone look a like, parking tickets that cause malware problems, a man who tried to strangle his girlfriend with a Wii controller and iTunes DRM free. We also throw in some film stories, including Jeff Bridges’ new body in Tr2n, Sean Penn and Johnny Depp are up for The Three Stooges, Green Lantern gets a director while the Green Hornet loses it’s director.
David and Katrina review “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” and Katrina tells us about “Marley & Me”.
This episode carries an explicit tag due to bad language (mostly from Christian Bale and Julia Roberts).

I was interested to hear the casting proposals for the Three Stooges film. I notice that there was no mention of anyone for the role of Curly. I must admit that while I was listening to the podcast, Jack Black immediately popped into my head. I can hear your horrified gasps, but I think the allure of casting him would be watching him get slapped around for a couple of hours!

Lisa, I agree with you about Jack Black. Excellent choice if they on making this film. Jack Black is already a bit of a ham (I love him, but he is) so he would suit the film. I think the reason this film horrified me so much was the idea of the Penn and Depp casting. These are not usually actors that you would associate with a project like this. Jack Black however, is a perfect choice. Let’s hope the producers are reading this :-)
Thanks for listening.
