David is joined in studio by Jacob Oberman and Nicholas McVay for a Trekking good time.
First of all apologise for the missed episode. David still has a wicked cold.
Tech News: Google’s anti trust case, Sweden’s Pirate Party and Apple fires back at Microsoft with new ads.
Film News: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde gets made again and again and maybe even again.
Jacob tells us about “Wake in Fright” and David and Jacob review the new “Star Trek” movie and the Italian masterpiece, “Gomorrah”.
Nicholas “Little Geek” McVay joins David for his reviews of “Star Trek” and “Wolverine”.
As always this episode carries an explicit tag due to small amounts of bad language.

I am excited and anxious about Wake in Fright in equal measure. It was, without a doubt, the most disturbing book I have ever read. I’ve never seen the film but just the brief clip you played made my chest tighten. Can’t wait to see it but might choose an early session followed by something like A Night at the Museum 2 to to mitigate the effect.

Vale Bud Tingwell. What a loss. Universally loved Australian entertainment icon. We don’t have too many of those.

The most unbelievable thing about the girl in the PC ad is her name. No modern, bright young thing is going to have been burdened with the name Sheila. It peaked in popularity in 1960 and has been in the cellar ever since. And unfortunately a mention in this goofy ad isn’t going to do it’s cause any favours. I’m sure I speak for Sheilas everywhere when I say thanks for nothing Microsoft.
