We reported a few days ago that Carl Erik Rinsch is being courted to remake ‘Logan’s Run’, now MTV had a chance to sit down with Über-Producer Joel Silver (‘Die Hard’, ‘Lethal Weapon’, ‘The Matrix’) who was promoting the new film Splice this week. Mr. Silver said that he wanted to conceive and shoot ‘Logan’s Run’ in 3D using 3D cameras. Here is the MTV quote:
Just in case you missed it, here is the quote:
“I’d like to make ‘Logan’s Run’ [in 3-D],” he said. “It’s a movie I’ve always been intrigued with, excited by. We’re writing a script now and that should be a big 3-D movie and it should be devised and shot in 3-D. I think if we can pull it together, then it would be.”
For those who haven’t seen the original ‘Logan’s Run’, here is the trailer:
I’m actually getting very excited about this film, I know I am not a huge fan of the remake era, but some remakes have worked and in some case, ‘The Thing’ and ‘The Fly’, I think they even better the original films. I also love 3D, when the film is designed and shot for it. I hate 3D conversion and after ‘Clash of the Titans’, I will never watch a conversion again.
Looking forward to ‘Logan’s Run’? What are your thoughts on 3D cinema? Comment below.
