Geek Actually Ep132 – We’re Still Here

Hosted by: David McVay & Josh Philpott

This week on Geek Actually David and Josh take a deep breath of relief that the world hasn’t ended and look at the week in geek stuff. Stories include an update on the impending robot apocalypse, more Playstation Network hacks, the NBN has gone live, Twitter in the classroom, terrible ASUS advertising, foldable AMOLED screens, naked coders, the most useless robot ever designed and Netflix is taking over the internet! All this plus picks of the week and the future of food packaging, so whack in the earbuds and prepare to hack into the geeky goodness.

Geek Actually is the fusion of the old Tech Actually and Geek Actually After Show podcasts into an all new show. All the Tech and geek goodness that you have come to expect from the old shows wrapped up and made easier to swallow as one simple, little, tasty podcast. DeltaKnight (AKA DAvid Murray) continues to supply us with some of the geekiest stories on the web and Josh and David love to play with the tech news.

Geek Actually is recorded live on Saturdays around 12pm (AEST UTC+10). Go to geekactually.com/live to watch it live.

Geek Picks of the Week

Every week Josh, DeltaKnight and/or I will give you our geek picks of the week, these could be anything from iPhone apps to a great sandwich recipe (more likely to be an app though).

David recommends “Portal 2” (it is an obsession!), Josh picks the game “L.A.Noire” as his pick of the week plus the Android Apps “Paradise Island” (a “We Rule” style game) and the Android interface enhancer “ADW Launcher”, but be warned, this is not for the novice user.

I love these iDevice holders, so old school.
