I was a child when the mini series based on John Le Carré amazing spy novel came out in 1979. I remember Alec Guinness being brilliant as Smiley and I remember the incredibly dense storyline but I wasn’t old enough to fully appreciate the depth of the material. I saw it again many years later and realised that this was a masterpiece of television.
Now Tomas Alfredson, director of the brilliant “Let The Right One In”, has brought it to the big screen starring Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy and Mark Strong. Now looking at the quality of this trailer, to say I am excited is an understatement.
“Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy” opens in Australia on the 27th of October 2011.
