I love Cameron Crowe films. This is the man who brought us “Say Anything”, “Jerry Maguire” and “Almost Famous” and he has a knack for great character pieces.
Here Mr. Crowe breaks the rules of W.C. Fields about not working with children or animals by making a film about a family that buys a zoo. This looks really interesting but it walks a very fine line between heartwarming and too saccharin sweet. The film stars a serious Matt Damon and the sensational Elle Fanning (“Super 8”), I want to see it.
“We Bought a Zoo” directed by Cameron Crowe and written by Cameron Crowe and Aline Brosh McKenna based on the memoir by Benjamin Mee. It stars Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning and Thomas Haden Church. It opens in December 2011.
