Film Actually Ep070 – The Adventures of Tintin

Hosts: David McVay, Josh Philpott & Richard Gray

For the next couple of weeks it is the silly season so Geek Actually is only putting out shorter episodes, consider this the holiday series. This week David , Josh and Richard review the new Steven Spielberg adventure film, “The Adventures of Tintin”. Because of the shorter run time they don’t tackle news this week, instead they roll straight into the famous Lists of Five – The Five Best Movies of the Year. Film Actually is the official movie podcast of geekactually.com.

Feature Film Review

‘The Adventures of Tintin’ directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish and is based on the comic book series by Hergé. It stars Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Toby Jones.

Tintin and Captain Haddock set off on a treasure hunt for a sunken ship commanded by Haddock’s ancestor. But someone else is in search of the ship. Source: IMDB

Our Verdict: A fun adventure film for the whole family. Quite possibly one of the prettiest films ever made. The film starts a little slow but when Spielberg cranks up the action he proves he still has what it takes.

Lists of Five:

This week our Lists of Five: The Five Best Movies of the Year. That’s right, it is that time of the year again when we finally commit to our favourite films of the year.
Just a reminder, because we never like to just make things easy on ourselves, our lists are not necessarily top five lists, they are more or a less a list of film recommendations within the theme of the list.
