Feature Film Review
‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ directed by Tomas Alfredson and written by Bridget O’Connor and Peter Straughan based on the novel by John le Carré. It stars Gary Oldman, Toby Jones, John Hurt, Mark Strong, David Dencik, Ciarán Hinds, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy.
In the bleak days of the Cold War, espionage veteran George Smiley is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6’s echelons. Source: IMDB
Our Verdict: One of the best of 2011. This is a fantastic, complicated film that demands your full attention. An amazing character study with sensational performances from Gary Oldman and the entire cast.
Spoiler Section: 38:39 – 47:22 – Fast forward this bit if you don’t want to hear spoilers.

Lists of Five:
This week our Lists of Five: Five Great Number Two’s. Listener Mike from Canada requested this week’s list and this is how he did it: “How about a list of five great number twos (sidekicks/head henchmen), like Random Task or Steve Zahn from Sahara.” Well Mike, we aim to please so here you go.
Just a reminder, because we never like to just make things easy on ourselves, our lists are not necessarily top five lists, they are more or a less a list of film recommendations within the theme of the list.
