“The Happening” didn’t happen!

I am currently researching M. Night Shyamalan’s films for a podcast segment and I planned on going to the movies tonight to see “The Happening” to complete the list of his films (I have watched a few of his films over the last few nights on DVD) and to my surprise it is no longer playing at my local cinema, The Ritz in Randwick.

What happened? Was it really that bad? I mean, Prince Caspian is still playing 4 sessions a day and it has been running a week longer. This will add a new dimension to the Podcast episode, stay tuned.

After a quick check around, The Happening is finished everywhere. This is a film that opened on June 12! It has not even been in circulation for a month. Good lord, this after the failure of Lady in the Water could be a problem for Night’s career.

Vodafone Where Are You?

Okay, I will update this daily until the release date. It is now 6 days until the release of iPhone 3G in Australia (the world for that matter) and Vodafone still has not given out prices or plans. How is this a way to run a company.

I went into a Vodfone store yesterday to ask if they knew anything, you know, incase they just forgot about me. The sales person was downright rude about the whole thing. I am so close to just getting rid of Vodafone and going to Optus … Sorry Telstra but after having my mobile with you for close to six years, I will never use your service again.

Please, please, please, Vodafone, it is time to announce your prices and plans or you will start to lose customers.

Sorry About The Construction

The site is almost finished. I apologies in advance for the chaotic nature of the build. I am learning this new theme and pages are kind of going up and down. Everything will be smoothed out in a few days.

Gimme an iPhone Already!!!

Here it is, the 4th of July, and the iPhone 3G is only 7 days away from being released here in Australia. We have had to wait a year for this little marvel and now it is so close I can feel it… I eagerly signed the expression of interest page with my phone company the day they announced I could, I jumped with joy the day I got an email from them saying to wait, a rep would call soon. Yay! I waited.

I waited. I waited. I waited. And now we have a small problem. My phone service, Vodafone, the first carrier in Australia to get the iPhone still has not announced how much this is going to cost or what kind of plans they are going to offer. How can they not know 7 days before release?!?!?

Vodafone, please announce the prices and plans, Optus and Telstra have now both gone public with their plans and rates (and as usual here in Australia, completely fucked us users!). I just want to know where and how I pick up my iPhone on the 11th!

I don’t want to wait anymore. If Apple is reading, can’t you help us loyal fans?

New ‘HULK’ Smashes!!

Final Poster ArtWent to see “The Incredible Hulk” with my son (the 9 year old geek) and had a great time. Ang Lee should hang his head in shame, this is how you make a Hulk movie.

My son was particularly chuffed, he is a long time Hulk fan and is currently collecting the old 70s TV show (I told you he was a geek, right?).

A good mix of action, humour and FX. This Hulk really does smash. Go, buy popcorn and sit back and be entertained. Not as good as Iron Man but they would make a great double feature.

I am drooling in anticipation of The Avengers!

Welcome

Welcome to Geek Actually. The site is currently under construction and everything will be up and running shortly. Please stand by.
