Geek Actually Episode 58 – Trick or Treat

New Geek Actually Cover ArtHosts: David McVay, Josh Philpott and Dave Kozicki

The Geek Actually Podcast is recorded live on Ustream with chat interaction.

It’s Halloween again and along with our news and opinions we throw in a little spooky fun. A late start due to technical malfunctions (could it be gremlins in the machines?) but the show finally got rolling. After a huge mail bag we moved into…

Game News This Week: A new Nintendo DSi (called a DSi LL) with a larger form factor and game censorship, again.

The Great Internet Tech War of 2009: An article on CNet would indicate that we are not the only ones that think a war is going on, they think Google might be winning.

Tech News This Week: Microsoft pulls it’s support for the ‘Family Guy’ special that they commisioned, Stephen Conroy screws up again and Mitsubishi develops odour eating car seats.

Entertainment News This Week: The new ‘Avatar’ trailer is here and we delve into our thoughts and opinions on what we will get with James Cameron’s new film, the ‘Alien’ Prequel might not be what we had hopes for and Netflix comes to PS3 and Wii. We also throw in a retro review for Halloween of the horror film ‘Dog Soldiers’, rent it now it is lots of fun.

Our Feature Review: For our feature review this week we tackle Terry Gilliam’s new film ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’. Like all of Gilliam’s films, it sparks conversation. Josh and David M. quite liked it, Dave K. is still processing it.

This episode carries an explicit tag due to infrequent coarse language.
