When I saw the J.J. Abrams remake of “Star Trek”, a few years ago I was really impressed with Anton Yelchin who played Chekov. I like his energy and think he has a huge career in front of him. This was illustrated again for me today when I saw him in the remake of “Fright Night” but I’ll talk about that more in a later post.
Why am I talking about Yelchin? Well our friends over at Paramount Pictures Australia have just released this trailer for his new film, “Like Crazy” (watch it below). The film also stars Felicity Jones who is about to hit the big time with the release of “Chalet Girl” in September. This is shaping up to be a must see film.
So what is it about? I think the official synopsis sums it up rather well, so I will let Paramount tell you:
A love story is both a physical and emotional tale, one that can be deeply personal and heartbreaking for an audience to experience. Director Drake Doremus’ film Like Crazy beautifully illustrates how your first real love is as thrilling and blissful as it is devastating. When a British college student (Felicity Jones) falls for her American classmate (Anton Yelchin) they embark on a passionate and life-changing journey only to be separated when she violates the terms of her visa. Like Crazy explores how a couple faces the real challenges of being together and of being apart. This looks really good and I’m getting a “Before Sunset”/”Before Sunrise” kind of vibe from it. Unfortunately we have to wait until the 2nd of February 2012 before we can see it.
