Little Geek Short Film – Failed Ambition

Nicholas ‘The Little Geek’ McVay entered into the THAC 8 animation contest over the weekend. He had to write, shoot and edit a Lego animated movie in a 24 hour period. This is his entry and he did the whole thing in just under 11 hours. It is great fun and I am really proud of him, although I think he is even prouder of himself! And for those wondering, yes, I supplied the voice.

I wish Nicholas all the best with the competition.

Little Geek Short: Sucked Into a Video Game

This week on the video version of the Film Actually podcast we debuted (The Little Geek) Nicholas’ new Lego animated short film, ‘Sucked Into a Video Game’. It unfortunately doesn’t really have much meaning to the audio listeners so I have posted it here for you to watch (as promised on the show). So here you go, I hope you enjoy his Tron inspired short film.

Film Actually Ep021 (113) – That’s a Big Door

Hosts: David McVay & Josh Philpott

Welcome to the Film Actually podcast, your weekly dose of movie geek. Film Actually is the official movie podcast of geekactually.com.

This week David McVay and Josh Philpott review the most hyped film of the year ‘Tron Legacy’. We also have some Entertainment Buzz including a couple of new trailers and a brand new Lists of Five – The Five Films of the Year. So sit back, grab a snack and enjoy. This is the last episode of Film Actually for 2010, the show will return on January 8th, 2011. Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays to be politically correct) and a Happy New Year to all of our listeners.

*Update 31/07/2012 – Film Actually was a split off from the main Geek Actually show and originally maintained numbering continuity with that show. That logic no longer works as the shows have become two unique entities, so we have gone back and re-numbered the Film Actually shows to reflect their true episode number. This show is now officially episode 21 but when you listen to the show you will hear it referred to as episode 113, this is why. Sorry about any confusion or inconvenience.

Film Actually is recorded live every Saturday. Go to geekactually.com/live for the schedule and to watch it

Geek Actually After Show Ep112 – Like a Toy Boat in a Bathtub

Hosted by: David McVay, Josh Philpott & Celine Roberts

Welcome to the Geek Actually After Show. This week on the un-stuctured, no rules, geeky after show podcast that we call Geek Actually we have Daft Punk’s new video clip, air powered doors, Sonic Screwdrivers and fast food sushi. That is what what you get when you get a few geeks together after we finish recording the two main shows, Tech Actually and Film Actually. We run through DeltaKnight’s geekiest links of the week. Basically we leave the microphones on and record whatever we feel like talking about. This show gives us a chance to talk about those things that didn’t fit into the format of the main shows. It’s all in good geeky fun – Think of it as your ‘Week in Geek’.

The Geek Actually After Show is recorded live on Saturdays around 2.30 to 3pm (AEST UTC+10) depending on how long the main shows go. Go to geekactually.com/live to watch it live.
