Geek Actually After Show Ep109 – Toasty

Hosted by: David McVay, Josh Philpott & Celine Roberts

Welcome to the Geek Actually After Show. This week on the un-stuctured, no rules, geeky after show podcast that we call Geek Actually we watch mobile phones cook, observe obsessive fans and view crazy Canadians who eat the most absurd stuff. That is what what you get when you get a few geeks together after we finish recording the two main shows, Tech Actually and Film Actually. We run through DeltaKnight’s geekiest links of the week. Basically we leave the microphones on and record whatever we feel like talking about. This show gives us a chance to talk about those things that didn’t fit into the format of the main shows. It’s all in good geeky fun – Think of it as your ‘Week in Geek’.

The Geek Actually After Show is recorded live on Saturdays around 2.30pm (AEST UTC+10). Go to geekactually.com/live to watch it live.

Trailer: Source Code

I’ve been waiting for a trailer to come along and really get me jazzed for a new film. Here it is. I’m not so excited about the topic of the film, that looks interesting etc., I’m jazzed over the director. Duncan Jones’ first feature was ‘Moon’ and as some of you will remember from last year, it was in my top 5 films of the year. This is Duncan Jones’ second film, ‘Source Code’, and that excites me no end. I will be there on opening day for this one, hopefully we won’t have to wait six months longer than the US audiences like we did with Moon.

Excited? Let me know in the comments below.

New Trailer: The Green Hornet (Trailer #2)

This is a much better trailer than the first one released but I have to say that I still think the film is going to suck. The formula just looks all wrong to me. I wait to be proven wrong (or right).

What did you think? Are you excited about this film? Let me know in the comments below.

Trailer: Family Guy – It’s a Trap! (Star Wars Parody 3)

I loved the first two Family Guy Star Wars parodies, “Family Guy: Blue Harvest” and ‘Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Darkside”, and I was wondering when Return of the Jedi was going to get skewered. Here it is, ‘Family Guy: It’s a Trap!”

The trailer has just been released (okay, so it was a couple of days ago, I was having a short break, so, sue me) and the Blu-Ray/DVD will be out in December. Count me in, I’ll be purchasing it on release day!

What did you think? Are you fan of the Family Guy parodies? Comment below.

Trailer: Pixar’s Cars 2

On the show, Film Actually this week we ran out of time and we had two more trailers to show, so as mentioned on the show, I have posted them up here for you to have a look at. This one is for Pixar’s next film ‘Cars 2’. Now Cars is not my favourite Pixar movie, I just didn’t find it that compelling because I had trouble relating to cars. Cars 2 looks much the same, they can add all the explosions and spy stuff they want, they are still talking cars!

Trailer – Battle: Los Angeles

On the show, Film Actually this week we ran out of time and we had two more trailers to show, so as mentioned on the show, I have posted them up here for you to have a look at. This one is for a new sci-fi action film called ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ that has me intrigued. I am liking what I see so far.
