Geek Actually Episode 90 After Show – The Supanova 2010 Special

Hosted by: David McVay, Josh Philpott and Shane Gregory

Welcome to the Geek Actually Podcast After Show, the show were we just leave the mics on and record whatever we feel like talking about. This show gives us a chance to talk about anything that didn’t fit into the format of the main show. If this is your first experience with the Geek Actually Podcast, stop! This is not an actual show, it is the random ramblings of a bunch of geeks. Go listen to the main show first then come back to us. The Geek Actually Podcast and After Show are recorded live on Ustream.

Time for a complete change of pace as we present our coverage of the 2010 Sydney Supanova Pop Culture Expo. We interview fans and stall holders and tell you about our experiences at the expo. The highlight of the expo for us was the interview we got with the guys behind the film ‘Iron Sky’. Don’t know what ‘Iron Sky’ is? Go here to watch an early teaser. All the clips we showed on the live version of this show can be found here. If you would like to watch the live show in it’s complete form go here.

To find out more about ‘Iron Sky’ go to ironsky.net and to visit the site discussed in the interview go to wreckamovie.com. Continue reading

The Supanova 2010 Expo Videos

As promised on the podcast (The Geek Actually After Show Episode 90) here are the high quality versions of the clips we played on the show. I have re-edited the clips so they are in 5 packages and some of the interviews are extended versions. With this post and the photo gallery and the posting of the After Show podcast, I think we have almost put Supanova to bed for another year.

I hope you have enjoyed our coverage of the Expo and we will be back there next year. Continue reading

Fan Film: AT-AT Day Afternoon

I haven’t posted a fan film for awhile now but Nicholas, The Little Geek, just showed me this new film by Patrick Boivin, the creator of the ‘Iron Baby’ short that we put up here a few weeks back. This time he is animating an AT-AT from Star Wars and it is really cute. Check it out below.
