Fan Film: Street Fighter Legacy

As promised yesterday, here is the final ‘Street Fighter Legacy’ short fan film. I still think it feels like a trailer to a longer film but it is well done and it is better than either of the big studio film versions, ‘Street Fighter’ (1994) and ‘Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li’ (2009).

I do suggest you shoot over to YouTube and watch it in HD because it looks great. What did you think? Comment below.

Australian Attorneys-General Start Meeting Today

Everyone cross your fingers and hope for the best, the Standing Committee of Attorneys-General meeting starts today. This is the gathering of all the state’s Attorneys-General in Australia where the work out policies etc., it is also the meeting that decides on the R18+ rating for games.

We are off to a roaring start however with the head of EA Games,Frank Gibeau, commenting last night that the current anti R18+ policy is the same as censorship. Here are a couple of highlights, you can read the full statement below.

Gibeau said, “Government policies that don’t allow for the rating of mature content in video games effectively censor entertainment choices for adults. These policies show a poor understanding of today’s video gaming audience. Existing legislation in Australia that limits age ratings of games to 16, demonstrates a distance between those policies and the reality of the video game industry and the people that play interactive games in Australia today.” Continue reading

The Final Poster Art for The Last Airbender

This is just a quick one to let the fans know that the final one sheet for ‘The Last Airbender’ has now been released and you can see it below (click the image for a much larger view).

I like it except I think it needs more colour. I have been saying since the first teaser came out that I think M. Night Shyamalan has cut all the humour from the source material and this poster seems to confirm that. Continue reading

New Tron Legacy Promotional Photos

Filmfilia.com has just posted up five new official promotional images from ‘Tron Legacy’, you can either shoot over to their website and read their original post or check out the photos below.

I am busting at the seams to see this film, the second trailer just had me jumping for joy. I am a huge fan of the first film (I am old enough to have seen it as a teenager in the cinema) and I really dig the new look and direction this sequel is taking.

‘Tron Legacy’ tells the story of Sam Flynn (Hedlund), trying to investigate the disappearance of his father Kevin (Bridges, from the first film), he soon finds himself being pulled into the same computer world where his father has been for 25 years. Continue reading

New Trailer: Splice

Found this one floating around the net.

Ok, first off it’s not the best trailer I’ve seen, but I will say the concept has me intrigued. Two scientists defy both nature and the law by playing with human DNA and create something… dangerous.

What does seem unique from the trailer, is that their idea straight away doesn’t seem to be to destroy their mistake, which bodes positively for me (as this seems to be a stale standard for “science gone wrong films”). Couple this with Adrian Brody and you at least have my attention. Comments?
