You never know, you’re listening to that podcast and something visual happens, now you can simply find the show here and watch what happened. Enjoy. (Note: We only started recording the feed as of episode 46, there are no videos of earlier shows.)

When Worlds Collide: Microsoft Stands By Apple Against Flash!

Wow, I feel like I have entered some alternate dimension, Microsoft has joined arch rival Apple and criticised Flash as a web standard. A few days ago, Steve Jobs came out in a long statement about why Apple would not offer Flash support in it’s mobile devices. I won’t go over the details of that memo again here as we covered it in Geek Actually Tech (episode 10), but basically Jobs offered several points that we agreed with and a little bit of condescension that we didn’t agree with. Adobe fired back by saying that Apple was just trying to sell their products and the people should be able to make their own decisions about what they want to use. I have way over simplified this, but you can read the rebuttal here. This is very Apple behaviour and there is nothing strange about this, however, this is were the strange alternate reality kicks in. Continue reading

New Mass Effect 2 Equalizer Pack DLC

As anyone who listens to our podcast will know, I am a Mass Effect junkie and I look forward to every little piece of Mass Effect news I can get. This week (Tuesday US time) a new DLC (for the non-gamers is stands for Down Loadable Content) pack will be released, this time called the Equalizer Pack and it contains some new items for Shepherd.

So far, with the exception of Katsumi, I have been a little underwhealmed by the Mass Effect 2 DLC, for game of this calibre I would hope that some super DLC is still yet to come. I actually found myself getting bored during Firewalker. Anyway, below is the official Bioware description for this DLC: Continue reading

Trailer: The American

Check out the new trailer for ‘The American’ starring George Clooney as an assassin who wants to retire. The trailer is moody and dark and quite frankly, after ‘Up in the Air’ I’d watch Clooney do anything at the moment. ‘The American’ is directed by Anton Corbijn (‘Control’) and co-stars Bruce Altman, Thekla Reuten, Irina Björklund and Violante Placido. It is due for release in the US in September 2010.
