Fully Restored – The complete Metropolis is coming

Many months ago on the podcast we talked about the lost footage from Fritz Lang’s silent classic ‘Metropolis’ being found in Argentina and they were trying to restore the film. Well here it is.

I am so excited for the release of this masterpiece of science fiction. It masterful imagery linked to it’s politically charged story line make this a must see film for any movie buff. This will mark the closest we will ever get to the film that premiered in Berlin 1927. Sit back and enjoy the trailer and now we wait until either a cinema screening or the Blu-Ray release.

Final Trailer: The Last Airbender

This debut last week, but I had to share. This is the final trailer for M. Night Shymalan’s latest film, The Last Airbender. The film is based on Nickleodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender. Enjoy.

Trailer: Jonah Hex

Another comic book makes it’s big screen debut. This time Josh Brolin stars as Jonah Hex. I’m not real excited about this one.

Jonah Hex is directed by Jimmy Hayward and stars Josh Brolin, Megan Fox and John Malkovich. It is based on the DC Comics character. It is due for release 18th June 2010 in the US and 12th August 2010 in Australia.

At this point we have to say that director Jon Favreau needs to get a huge pat on the back because he obviously has an intimate relationship with the material and knows how to cast. As an actor himself, he never forgets that performance is key. A key mistake that a lot of comic book (or fantasy/sci-fi films in general) movies make is forgetting that if we don’t connect with the characters, it doesn’t matter about the whizz bang factor, the audience is left cold. Case in point, Transformers 2. Continue reading
