Still not a huge fan of M. Night Shyamalan but this seems to be getting it right so far. I am a huge fan of the cartoon series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and, although still not to happy about the multi cultural casting, this seems to be getting the ingredients right. Will it rise and be tasty or just turn into “The Happening” or “The Lady in the Water”? In July we will find out if “The Last Airbender” sees a turn around in the career of Mr. Shyamalan. This is apparently the super bowl TV spot for the film that has somehow leaked out early. No guarantees how long this video will work.

New Wall Street Money Never Sleeps Teaser Trailer
Well, Oliver Stone is at it again. Set 23 years later and Gordon is getting out of jail. ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ is the follow up to the 1987 film ‘Wall Street’ and is addressing the current economic situation of America. It could be insightful or more of the same from Oliver Stone. Only time will tell.
‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ stars Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf, Carey Mulligan, Susan Sarandon, Charlie Sheen, Josh Brolin and Frank Langella. It is directed by Oliver Stone and will be released in April 2010.

The 2010 Oscar Nominations
Okay, the Oscar Nominations for this year (The 82nd Annual Academy Awards) have now been announced. A pretty predictable list as usual. I will say that opening it up to 10 best picture nominations is at the same time as being dumb at least allows films like District 9 and Avatar (genre films never get the oscar nod) to get included. I will say up front that I am pissed off that Moon didn’t get any love. Moon is, in my opinion, was one of the best films of the year. Here is a list of the main awards. New International Kick-Ass Trailer Rocks!
Okay, unlike the Clash of the Titans ad campaign which leaves me cold, Kick-Ass just keeps getting better and better. This is the latest trailer (an international age restricted trailer, cool) that adds a few new clips and lines for the film. It also continues to help build the storyline. I can’t wait for this film. Kick-Ass opens in Australia on the 8th of April 2010. We will discuss this in detail on the next episode of The Geek Actually Podcast (ep70).
