Geek Actually Episode 67 – In With The New

New Geek Actually Cover ArtHosts: David McVay, Josh Philpott, Dave Kozicki and special guest Suze Ryan (Editor of Australian Penthouse)

The Geek Actually Podcast is recorded live on Ustream with chat interaction.

We’re back for 2010! This is the first of our redesigned Geek Actually podcast. Out with the tech (we might cover major events now and then) and the games (they  have their own podcast now, see below) and in with more film news and reviews and our new TV section. This week David, Josh and Dave are joined by Suze Ryan, the editor of Penthouse Magazine, for a look at the career of Guy Ritchie and a review of his new film ‘Sherlock Holmes’. A shout out to our friends at The Reel Junkies Podcast at weekendronin.com and The Movie Fan House Podcast at moviefanhouse.com.

News: We look at the latest in Polanski’s case, run through the Director’s Guild Award nominations and celebrate the ‘Green Lantern’ movie’s green light. We also take a look at the new trailers for ‘Clash of the Titans’, ‘Robin Hood’, ‘Iron Man 2’ and ‘Kick-Ass’.

This Week in Television: We take a look and review David Tennant’s last outing as The Doctor in ‘Doctor Who The End of Time’.

This Week’s Feature Review: The career of Guy Ritchie; from ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ to being married to Madonna to his comeback film ‘Rocknrolla’. Then we review his latest effort ‘Sherlock Holmes’ starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Over all well received by all with some small issues by David and Josh, as usual.

This episode carries an explicit tag due to infrequent coarse language.
