The Wolfman Trailer Now Online
Well, it has been a long time coming, The Wolfman is finally getting ready to be released and a trailer is online. This film seemed to be in trouble for awhile, it is almost a year late and there have been reshoots. The release date has been changed a couple of times, but now it looks like it is on track for it’s February 2010 opening. The makeup work by Rick Baker looks stellar and the cast is solid with Anthony Hopkins, Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving heading up the film. Joe Johnston directs with a dark, gothic style which is the polar opposite to his earlier film Jumanji and The Rocketeer. It is interesting to note that Johnston is currently signed to direct Captain America and it makes me wonder what direction he will take that film, dark and moody like The Dark Knight (this film would indicate that he could go there) or light and fun like Spider-Man (much more like the Johnston of old). Only time will tell. Below you will find the trailer, let us know what you think below in the comments or in our forum.

Apple Tablet Rumours Kick Into High Gear!
Yahoo! Tech is reporting that rumours have surfaced that Apple will release two different tablets, a 6″ model probably running the iPhone OS and a 10″ model that will be a fully functional OSX machine capable of running all Mac software.
Wow, if this is true, sign me up! Interestingly enough I think I would be more inclined to get the 6″ model as I have a lovely 17″ MacBook Pro already for laptop computing. The 6″ model would be a perfect media and internet device.
Of course all of this is rumour and speculation and we won’t know anything until September 9th when Apple holds their special event.
Oh, and just one more thing, there is also a very popular rumour going around that Steve Jobs will deliver the presentation. If this is true that adds a lot of weight to the tablet rumours as he would want to deliver a big product. If this is just an iPod refresh, why would he bother?

The Beatle’s Yellow Submarine Setting Sail Again
Variety reports today that Robert Zemeckis is in negotiations with Disney to produce and direct a remake of the psychedelic 1968 cartoon, “Yellow Submarine”. The new film would be rendered in the same MoCap (Motion Capture) CG as Zemeckis’ “The Polar Express”, “Beowulf” and this years “A Christmas Carol”.
Now before anyone starts jumping up and down about the voice acting, I know that two of the original Beatles are dead, but in reality that really shouldn’t matter considering that the Beatles did not supply the voices to the original film, they only appeared as themselves in the last few minutes. The rest of the film was voice by actors, mimicking the Beatles.
My biggest concern with this film is the time and place issue. The original 1968 film was an LCD trip that spoke to the 60’s “it” crowd. Today the film is looked back on with fond memories, but is it really relevant to today’s audience?
I would love to hear your thoughts on this remake, I speak to the people who lived that era in particular. Head over to the forum, I have created a topic for this in the film section, and tell us what you think. I will be bringing this up in this weeks show, so voice your thoughts on this and we’ll read a few of them out on air. The link is at the bottom of the post.
For those who haven’t seen the original film, this is how Variety summed it up:
“The storyline of the original took place in Pepperland, an undersea paradise protected by Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. When the band is captured by the music-hating Blue Meanies, a soldier is sent to Liverpool to fetch the Fab Four, who hop in the submarine and save the day.”
