Important Announcement

Hi Everyone, Sorry there hasn’t been an update for awhile, rest assured we are still here. We took off some time over the Christmas break as you know and during this time we decided to upgrade out network connections. This is now the problem.

We have no internet connection in the office/studio for the next couple of weeks so updating is difficult. I’ve decided that trying to fight this is obsurd so until the connection gets turned back on posting will be erratic.

The podcast will go ahead as usual (episode 20 is being recorded this afternoon) but the upload day will be a little messy for the next two weeks as I will have to find broadband connections around town to upload it. Just keep refreshing iTunes from Wednesdays onwards to see if we are back.

New podcast will be up by tomorrow.

Everything should be back to normal in a couple of weeks.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I just want to wish all of our readers and listeners a very Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate in this holiday season) and a Happy New Year.

We will resume normal activity on this blog on Monday (29th of December) and the next podcast goes out on the 7th of January.

Have a wonderful and safe holidays everyone.

Geek Actually Episode 19 – The Politically Incorrect Christmas Special

Geek ActuallyHosts: David McVay, Mirren Lee, Jacob Oberman and Nicholas McVay

The gang’s all here on this wild and fun Christmas special. Hard news mostly takes a break this episode as we celebrate our last episode for the year. It is the Christmas season, so all the hosts share their lists of viewing – the good, the bad and the down right ugly!

Mirren and David review the new Ricky Gervais film “Ghost Town” and David reviews “Zack and Miri Make a Porno”.

We, at “Geek, Actually”, want to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. We will return January 6th, 2009.

This episode carries an explicit tag due to possible, infrequent, bad language.

American Idol Returns on January 13

I know I am a dork, but I quite enjoy American Idol. Please tell me that Fox 8 will carry this live from America again! As I am based in Australia we sometimes don’t get it.

The wait is almost over for the return of television’s No. 1 show! Last season’s finale boasted a record-breaking nearly 100 million votes cast in the crowning of David Cook as the winner, and now, AMERICAN IDOL is set to return with a two-night, four-hour premiere event featuring extraordinary talent and outrageous new auditions Tuesday, Jan. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, Jan. 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Stars sends anti-strike letter to SAG

Considering that the union is supposed to work for the members, I would say that this is a pretty clear message from the members.

A-listers cite weakening economy as reason — Over 130 stars have come against the SAG strike authorization, including George Clooney, Matt Damon and Tom Hanks. In a letter sent Monday to leaders of the Screen Actors Guild, the stars cited the weakening economy as the key factor in their move.
