REPLAY – Geek Actually Live Video Shows for October 22nd, 2011

Here are the live show recordings of this week’s “Geek Actually” and “Film Actually” podcasts. The shows were recorded live on October 22nd, 2011. Because the shows are live, you get them here with all the mistakes intact and boy were there mistakes this week. We had a constant flow of technical issues including the feed dropping out from under us at one point. “Film Actually” is presented here in two parts because of the problems. For a much better listening experience listen to the audio podcasts for these episodes. As always, these videos are presented here as a record of the live session and not as a reflection of the final show.

The video shows are now watchable on iOS devices as Ustream’s embeds are now compatible.

The Paranormal Activity 3 Melbourne Premiere

A few days ago we reported that Melbourne was one of the 20 cities to get “Paranormal Activity 3” early due to the Tweet To See It First promotion that Paramount Pictures ran, well on Tuesday the 18th at Hoyts in Melbourne, “Paranormal Activity 3” had its Australian Premiere.

Unfortunately Geek Actually is based in Sydney so we couldn’t make the event but we were with you guys in spirit. Luckily Paramount Pictures has sent us some photos and a video of the event so we can all feel like we were part of the action.

From 7pm onwards hundreds of fans lined up to get the best seats at the premiere. Michael Christain from Fox FM was MC at the event and kept everyone entertained in the line. There was plenty of screaming and of course, paranormal activity.

It is exciting that an Australian city can fifth in the competition, behind Houston, TX; Vancouver, BC Canada; Phoenix, AZ and San Antonio, TX. Congratulations again go out to the Melbourne fans for making this happen. Continue reading

The League Presents: Joel Edgerton at the Sydney Warrior Premiere

Sunday night the Australian premiere for Gavin O’Connor’s Warrior was held in Sydney, with star Joel Edgerton in town to answer questions from the media and greet the fans.

In Warrior, the youngest son (Tom Hardy) of an alcoholic former boxer (Nick Nolte) returns home, where he’s trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament – a path that puts the fighter on a collision course with his older brother (Joel Edgerton).

Below is a selection of photos from the night. We have more to come, plus a video interview with Edgerton and his brother Nash in the coming days where we grill the star on the film, his upcoming role in The Great Gatsby and what’s next for Blue Tongue Films. Click on any photo to enlarge.

Other celebs in the house included X-Factor‘s Ronan Keating and Underbelly: Razor‘s Izzie Stevens and Lucy Wigmore.

We need to thank Roadshow for access to the red carpet and for making this opportunity possible.

About The League
In the beginning there was chaos, a vast information network that provided few islands of hope. Then there was a light, a shimmering hope in the darkness. A portal for lovers of the wonders of celluloid and the entertainment industry. Then there came another, and another ushering in a golden age of wonders the likes the world had never seen. By day, they live out their lives as the humble David McVay of Geek Actually, Jorge Duran of The Spotlight Report, Richard Gray of The Reel Bits, Dave Longo of Damn Good Cup and Josh Philpott of Hip Hop Net. But when the signal goes out they come together as one! The League assembles! Tremble all who dare stand in its path!
