The League Presents: Exclusive Horrible Bosses Sydney Red Carpet Interviews

Horrible Bosses had its Sydney premiere on 16 August 2011, and its comedy superstars Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis were in town to talk about the film. Horrible Bosses is about Nick (Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Day), for whom the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust.  Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers…permanently.

We need to thank Roadshow for making this red carpet opportunity possible. Richard Gray, David Longo and Jorge Duran hit the red carpet, while David McVay braved the photo pit for the fabulous snaps below.

Geek Actually Site and Podcast Update

Just a quick note for those that may have missed the last Geek Actually or Film Actually podcasts.

Geek Actually has to move from it’s lovely studio in Randwick and this has thrown everything into chaos for a few weeks. So we have I have decide to suspend the Geek Actually live shows for about three weeks, that should give us plenty of time for the dust to settle and everything to be moved into out lovely new studio in Kingsgrove.

That’s right, the leases are signed and money has changed hands, we have a new place. Now we have to move.

Because the Geek Actually podcast functions better as a live show we are also suspending that podcast for the three weeks but the Film Actually podcast will continue as an audio show only (remember, there won’t be any live video shows for three weeks). I apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this causes.

The site will continue during this time as normal but there may be some delays on getting the latest stuff out, once again moving is time consuming.

Thanks for all the patience and in three weeks everything should be back to normal. For updates on when shows will go back to being live and studio updates follow me on Twitter at @davidmcvay or @geekactually or follow our Facebook page. These will be updated regularly.

If you are feeling kindly and want to help with the very expensive chore of moving, we do take donations of any size. You can find the donations link in the sidebar.

Teaser: The Hunger Games

The first teaser for the new film “The Hunger Games” has surfaced and it is a bit of a snoozer. Based on the first book in Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games Trilogy, which I must admit I haven’t read, the film has a lot of buzz around it. After seeing this teaser, I’m not sure why. Even the director, Gary Ross, has recently come out to basically apologise for this teaser. He claims it is dull because they are still shooting the film and there isn’t a lot of footage available yet… do you think he has seen the teaser for “The Dark Knight Rises”? When the studio needs an early teaser, get creative.

Anyway for the fans of the books, I present to you the teaser for “The Hunger Games”, hopefully the full trailer will be more inspiring. The film is due for release in March 2012.

Fun Videos: Behind the Scenes of Chalet Girl

Paramount Pictures Australia has made a couple of new behind the scenes clips available to us from the sweet new romantic comedy “Chalet Girl”. This fun little film tells the story of a poor girl who take on a job serving the snooty upper class in a Chalet in Austria. While there she takes a stab at Snow Boarding and finds she is a natural. Somewhere along the way, she falls in love.

Aside from being charming, the film boasts a good supporting cast and some very good snow boarding footage. Below you’ll find a fun little video of Bill Nighy trying to convince us that he is a brilliant snow boarder, funny stuff, and a interesting piece on how they captured some of the good snow boarding footage.

New Trailer: Footloose

A few weeks back we posted the first trailer for the new remake of “Footloose” so it seems fitting that we post up the new trailer here as well. Our friends over at Paramount Pictures Australia have made the second trailer available and even though it is a remake of the 1984 movie and not the Broadway musical as I had hoped it still looks like it could be a bit of fun.

“Footloose” directed by Craig Brewer and starring Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid opens across Australia October 6th.
