Avatar 2 Trailer – Funny Parody

Okay, against all better judgement, I thought this was pretty funny. It does kind of highlight how unoriginal Cameron’s script was for the first film.

New Items In The Geek Actually Gift Store

I have been growing increasingly annoyed by the lack of an R18+ rating for games in this country so we now have a couple of T-Shirts and mugs to express our feelings. Let’s let the world know how we feel and wear these shirts proudly. Also new in the gift store a range of PICNIC shirts and a PICNIC mug. PICNIC = Problem In Chair, Not In Computer! The perfect shirt to wear when trying to explain that there is nothing wrong with someone’s computer. Continue reading

Announcement – Facebook No More

Okay, I have been pondering this for sometime because of all the privacy issues surrounding Facebook but after the recent release of past comments by Mark Zuckerberg (read the article here) and his complete contempt for the users, I am leaving Facebook.

It is a really hard decision because I use the Fan Page for promoting this site. I just find myself pondering this issue over and over again. Closing my Facebook account would probably mean that I lose contact with some old school friends that I have recently made contact with, I have family and friends that hang out there and of course there is the issue of promoting the shows. I also like occasionally playing Farmville and Cafe World, but I can live without those. People often throw up videos and stories for me for future shows and I hope they will continue to do so, you’ll just have to do it in the forum or by email or by Twitter in the future.

So I have made the decision that on May 31st, 2010 I am deleting my Facebook Pages. If anyone still wants to stay in contact with me, you can email me, follow me on Twitter or hang out in our forums. If you want Geek Actually news you can subscribe to the RSS feed (or Twitter, I tend to feed most articles there). Continue reading

Terry Gilliam is Chasing Windmills Again

Here we go again, Terry Gilliam’s next film will be ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’. If this sound familiar that is because he tried to shoot it back in 2000 with disastrous results. All of this was well documented in the documentary ‘Lost in La Mancha’, a brilliant film in it’s own right.

This time around, Gilliam has a smaller budget ($20 Million as opposed to the $35 million last time) and a new cast. Jean Rochefort was the original’s Don Quixote, this time Robert Duvall will take on the character and now it has been announced that Ewan McGregor will be filling the role that was originally played by Johnny Depp. Depp was still supposed to play the role but scheduling conflict have arisen, so he is now unavailable.
